For Parents

Guru Academy believes that establishing a positive relationship with parents initiates a better relationship with children, which creates an enriching atmosphere for them. We want to share information positively and effectively to support children in their preschool adventure and celebrate their milestones.

To help you make the most of our services, please take note of the following:

• Eligible hours of care are based on the parent’s working hours, including half an hour for pick-up. Hours of care are from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
• Our educators and staff are encouraged to understand what your expectations and priorities are as parent/guardian, which is why we highly encourage keeping open communication between parents/guardians and our faculty members
• In compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, we require a copy of your child’s immunization record or a statement of religious or conscientious objection to any kind of immunization.
• If and when a child is injured within the center, our staff are trained to administer basic first aid. If further medical attention is required, parents/guardians and/or Emergency Services will be contacted right away.
• We are aware that some of our activities may require our learners to be creative and thus messy. All of our materials are washable, but some paint colors and other materials may stain their clothing.
• Your children’s nutrition is our priority at the center. We encourage our little ones to taste a variety of food. We prepare meals that make up a child’s nutritional requirement.
• Our disciplinary practices at the academy use positive gestures and reinforcements. We strive to be consistent at using these techniques to instill appropriate behaviors in children. We do not encourage and utilize corporal punishments within the center.
